Better Nutrition & Healthier Eating

Good nutrition helps promote better health and wellness. It benefits all of our body systems including cardiological, physiological and mental. Nutrients from our food help to maintain our circulation, blood, bones,our immune system and muscles as well as helping to prevent disease.
Our well being is benefited from eating a variety of foods. Here are some tips for healthier eating and better nutrition:.
● Eat a well balanced diet: A well balanced diet includes vegetables, fruits,whole grains, healthy fats such as nuts and seeds as well as lean proteins
● Limit sodium: High sodium intake can lead to high blood pressure and other health conditions. Consider using herbs and other spices for seasoning food and be mindful of portion size.
● Push away from added sugars: Added sugars add calories without increasing nutrients and excessive consumption can lead to a number of health conditions including diabetes, obesity and heart disease. Limit or skip added sugars and instead sooth your sweet tooth with fruits while keeping track of blood sugar if You are diabetic or pre diabetic.
● Avoid late night snacking, which can added empty calories and impede your sleep.
● Incorporate healthier snacks into your day, such as low fat popcorn, celery and peanut butter, greek yogurt, apples with no sugar peanut butter,mixed nuts,fresh vegetables with hummus.
● Moderate portion size-to avoid overeating; which can lead to adding extra pounds
